National Recognition Establishes KACCRRA as One of the Leading Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies in the Country
Salina, Kansas – KACCRRA announced today that its organization has attained Quality Assurance, a national recognition awarded by the National Association of Child Care Resource & Referral Agencies (NACCRRA). “We are extremely proud to have achieved NACCRRA Quality Assurance,” said
Leadell Ediger, Executive Director of KACCRRA “Since 1990, we have been helping families in Kansas recognize, find and pay for high-quality child care, and have been working to help communities identify child care needs and create solutions. This national seal of approval proves that we are succeeding.”
NACCRRA Quality Assurance is a voluntary, national certification program for the field of Child Care Resource and Referral, including State Networks and local CCR&Rs. It is a rigorous and comprehensive validation process that enables CCR&Rs to meet Best Practices Criteria for delivering outstanding Child Care Resource & Referral services to parents, providers, businesses and communities. If successful in meeting Best Practices Criteria, State Networks and local CCR&Rs become validated in all service areas and serve as models of excellence in the field of Child Care Resource & Referral.
“KACCRRA’s achievement of NACCRRA Quality Assurance places it in the top quarter of the nation’s CCR&Rs,” said Linda K. Smith, Executive Director of NACCRRA. “KACCRRA has proven itself to be one of the best resources in the area for parents seeking information about child care.”
CCR&Rs are located in every state and most communities across the nation. Together, they serve parents and providers in over 99 percent of all populated ZIP codes. They work with their communities to build the supply and improve the quality of child care in communities by creating 450,000 new child care spaces and recruiting and training nearly 500,000 child care providers annually.
KACCRRA and its state member agencies has provided child care referrals to over 19,000 families, technical assistance to over 40,000 child care providers as well as in-service trainings to over 1,400 child care providers across the state of Kansas in 2008.
