Financial Assistance

Some Kansas families qualify to recieve financial assittance from the government to help pay for child care. Review the information below to see if you if you qualify.


SRS Subsidy

The Child Care Subsidy Program helps pay for child care costs. It helps many types of families. These include the following:

  • Families who receive TAF (Temporary Assistance for Families) - This program helps these families get and keep jobs.
  • Low-income, working families.
  • Some families in education or training activities - This provides help for keeping a job or getting a better job.
  • Teen parents completing high school or GED.

Tax Credits For Families February 23, 2009

April 15 will be here before we know it, and many people will be scrambling to file their 2008 taxes. Do you know what this means for your family? There are many credits taxpayers may take for various life events that often go overlooked. Below are just a few credits specifically for families, taken from the Internal Revenue Service website (www.irs.gov).

Helping Families Put Money in Their Pockets!

You could get up to thousands of dollars in tax credits for you and your family. Whether or not you owe income tax, if you work and have children you could qualify for:

  • Up to $2,100 from the federal Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit;
  • Up to $4,824 from the federal Earned Income Credit; and
  • Up to $1,000 per child from the federal Child Tax Credit. And this year, 3 million more children will be eligible for the Child Tax Credit - so don't miss out!

To get these credits, you must file a tax return.
